Thanks for this! A couple notes I learned:
1. I had to type ".\adb.exe" instead of just "adb" to get this to work in windows powershell
2. I had to use the syntax "--user" instead of "-user", otherwise it would report the error "unknown option -u"

Thank you. Using syntax "--user" instead of "-user" like Cleeve said it was straight forward to follow these instructions and get rid of bloatware off my Android phone. This is a useful page.
Does this also deletes the data off the application? Say youtube is 152 mb? Do you get this memory back onto your internal memory?
Hi I tried to remove some apps but it says that there is an error "unknown option: -- user". What does it mean ?
Thanks
Which system apps are unnecessary/necessary? Squeaking my nexus 6p along as long as possible .
Amazing work here. Been trying to figure out how to remove bloatware apps forever, and finally stumbled across this page which worked perfectly (once I figured out the em-dash before user was actually a double dash - - [without the space]).
